52 Weeks of Faith Brewed Strong and Bold, One Week at a Time.

A weekly pour of Scripture and reflection.

On The Table: Espresso Shot of Scripture

“For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

— 2 Timothy 1:7

Brewing Truth

Fear is not merely an emotion; it is a spirit that seeks to control our obedience, our witness, and our confidence in God. Paul reminds Timothy—and us—that fear is not from God. Instead, God equips His people with three powerful antidotes: power, love, and a sound mind.

Boldness is not arrogance or recklessness. It is the courage to move forward in God’s purposes, grounded in His authority, motivated by His love, and guided by a disciplined, sound mind. When fear rises—over our future, rejection, failure, or the unknown—Scripture calls us to stand firm, not to shrink back.

Pour-Over Perspective

Fear whispers lies: “You can’t. You’re not ready. Step back. Protect yourself.”

Boldness answers: “The Spirit of the Living God equips me. I act in love. I think clearly. I do not yield to fear.”

Boldness is a daily choice. It is showing up to difficult conversations, to uncomfortable prayers, to holy obedience even when trembling inside. Fear says “retreat”; God says “advance.” Fear binds, boldness frees.

World vs. Word

  • World says: “Don’t risk it. Play safe. Stay in the shadows.”

  • Word says: “Step forward. Act in love. Trust the Spirit. Fear has no hold on you.”

  • My follow: I will reject fear’s lies and walk in the boldness God provides, empowered by His Spirit, grounded in His Word.

Grounds for Change

(Practical Steps)

This week, practice boldness in practical ways:

  1. Step Into a Challenge → Identify one task you’ve been avoiding because of fear. Do it this week, leaning on God’s power.

  2. Speak the Truth in Love → Address a situation that requires courage—honestly, kindly, faithfully.

  3. Pray Boldly → Ask God for something beyond your comfort zone, expecting Him to provide.

  4. Encourage Another in Courage → Speak life to someone paralyzed by fear. Show them boldness in action.

  5. Reflect in Journaling → Write down every moment you acted in God-given boldness. Note how fear tried to speak—and how God’s Spirit spoke louder.

Stirred Well & Sipped Slowly

(Closing Prayer)

Father, You did not give me a spirit of fear. Strengthen me with the power of Your Spirit, anchor me in Your love, and sharpen my mind. Make me stand firm, speak truth without wavering, and walk with bold obedience in the work You’ve set before me. Silence fear. Lead me in courage. Amen.
